64-bit client

PC Requirements

What you need to play Dragon Ball Online Philippines Remastered on the new 64-bit client. The game picks its renderer on its own: DXVK (Vulkan) on graphics cards that support it, Direct3D 9 on everything else.

Minimum

Plays with Classic Graphics or low settings, on Direct3D 9

OS
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bitThe client is 64-bit only. 32-bit Windows is not supported.
CPU
4 threads with decent single-core speedIntel Core i3-6100, AMD Ryzen 3 1200 or equivalent
Memory
8 GB RAM
Graphics
DirectX 9.0c, Shader Model 3.0, 1 GB video memoryGeForce GTX 750 Ti, Radeon HD 7750, Intel HD Graphics 530
Storage
8 GB free space

Recommended

Full graphics (sun shadows, living grass, day and night) on DXVK / Vulkan

OS
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, current graphics driver
CPU
6 cores with strong single-core speedAMD Ryzen 5 3600, Intel Core i5-9400F or better
Memory
16 GB RAM
Graphics
Vulkan 1.3, 4 GB video memoryGeForce GTX 1650, Radeon RX 570, Intel Arc A380 or better
Storage
SSD with 8 GB free spaceAn SSD shortens loading and cuts stutter when new areas stream in.

What the new engine brings

The 64-bit client is a rebuilt version of the original engine. These are the features you will see and feel in game.

Real sun shadowsShadows follow the sun. Characters, monsters, NPCs, trees, buildings and props all cast shadows that move with the time of day.
Living grassBlade grass that bends as you walk or fly through it, with flowers, wild plants and bushes matched to each zone's ground.
Day and nightA full day cycle with sunrise and dusk light, moon phases, a real star sky with the Milky Way, meteors and lit windows at night.
Sky and waterDrifting clouds, a sea of clouds above the world, animated water with waves and mist at the waterfalls, and glare when you look into the sun.
Character lookCel-shaded characters with clean ink outlines and sharper, upscaled textures for outfits and gear.
Big fights stay smoothCharacter animation runs on the graphics card, so a screen with 150 monsters keeps a playable frame rate.
SnowSnowfall, snow-covered ground and footprints that follow your character in the snow zones.
Smoother loadingModels, textures and characters are read ahead of time, so flying across the map and crowds arriving cause fewer hitches.
Two renderers, no crashesDXVK (Vulkan) for speed, Direct3D 9 as a safety net. If DXVK cannot start, the game switches to Direct3D 9 on its own and keeps running.
Classic GraphicsOne checkbox in Options brings back the original look, instantly, with no restart. It is also the best setting for slower PCs.

Why the requirements went up

The original game was built for 2010 hardware. Each of the features above needs something from your PC.

RequirementWhy the game needs it
64-bit WindowsThe client is now a 64-bit program. It can use more than 4 GB of memory, which the larger textures, shadow maps and grass need.
Fast processor coreMost game work runs on one main thread: streaming the world, characters, animation and preparing every frame. Single-core speed sets the frame rate in towns and big fights.
Vulkan 1.3 graphics cardDXVK runs the game through Vulkan, which is much lighter on the processor than the old Direct3D 9 driver: 116 fps instead of 70 in Kokkara on our test PC.
4 GB video memorySun shadows use three high-resolution shadow maps, and the upscaled character textures and grass add to that.
Shader Model 3.0Shadows, grass, water, sky and cel shading are graphics-card programs that need Shader Model 3.0. Older cards can only use Classic Graphics.
16 GB RAM, SSDThe world streams in while you fly. Enough memory and a fast drive keep that streaming from causing stutter.

Which graphics cards run DXVK

DXVK needs a card with Vulkan 1.3 support. Older cards still run the game: it checks Vulkan at start-up and falls back to Direct3D 9 automatically, with nothing for you to change.

Measured on our test PC

AMD Ryzen 7 2700, GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB, 32 GB RAM, 1080p, all graphics on. The monitor's VSync caps the frame rate at 144.
